| Description: | The Jazz Education Network will present its sixth annual conference in San Diego, CA on January 7-10, 2015 at the Hyatt Regency, with a world-class lineup. The conference is open to all and will feature dozens of live performances by professional, student, and community groups, plus educational clinics, industry exhibits, networking opportunities, jam sessions, and more. Featured bass performers/presenters in past conferences included Steve Bailey, John Clayton, Bruce Gertz, John Patitucci, Rufus Reid, Lynn Seaton and Victor Wooten. Over 3000 people have attended recent conferences. During the conference, JEN will continue its tradition of honoring LeJENds of Jazz Education, LeJENds of Latin Jazz, John LaPorta Jazz Educator of the Year and present several scholarships. To enrich the educational community, the annual conference will include the JENerations Jazz Festival, a non-competitive adjudicated performance series created for junior high and high school vocal and instrumental groups of all sizes. Each group will perform and receive a clinic from two celebrity judges. Jen membership is required to register for the conference. Applications to present and/or perform will be available February 1 – March 31 through JazzEdNet.org. |
