Play for Fun at the 2011 ISB Convention:
Calling All Amateur Bassists (and Pros, Too!)
If you love to play bass for the fun of it, we have great news! The schedule for the 2011 convention will include organized daily sessions of ensemble playing from noon until 2 pm, Tuesday through Saturday, open to ages 18 and up. The ISB's Play for Fun Program is a special opportunity to work with coaches and play with fellow bassists in an informal and supportive atmosphere. Whether or not you make your living as a musician, all are welcome. There will be a kick-off meeting at noon on Tuesday, June 7th, then players will form ensembles and let the fun begin! If you arrive at the convention after Tuesday, we'll get you assigned to a group.
We encourage you to take part! The ISB will provide a lending library of music suitable for different levels of playing and interests. Sign up today, and join us at San Francisco State University. This is your chance to play and socialize with bassists from around the world. Who knows, you may even decide to start your own bass ensemble or club when you come home from the convention!
Complete and return the interest form, and we'll send you a list of the music in case you'd like to order it in advance.
