|Bio:||Fausto Borém (Belo Horizonte, Brazil, 1960) is Professor of Contrabass, Chamber Music, Research in Music and Performance Practices at UFMG, where he created the Master in Music and the Per Musi Magazine. Researcher at CNPq since 1994, he has a Ph.D. in Contrabass from the University of Georgia and a Master of Science from the University of Iowa. He organized the 1st National Seminar on Research in Musical Performance (1999), the IV International Meeting of Contrabassists (1996), the II National Competition for Composition for Double Bass (1996) and the 1st National Competition of Contrabassists (2002). He has represented Brazil in the main national and international acoustic double bass events (USA in 1993, 1995, 1997, 1999 and 2001, France in 1994, Scotland in 1998). He has presented works at the congresses of the International Society of Bassists Convention, SBPC, International Meetings of Double Bass, ANPPOM National Meetings, GAMUT Annual Meeting - Georgia Association of Music Theory. He has published dozens of articles in important national and international journals in the areas of performance, analysis and historical musicology (see Currículo Lattes on the CNPq website).
