Eli Uttal-Veroff is a multi-genre double bassist who calls Lexington, KY home. He is principal bassist of the Lexington Chamber Orchestra and an active performer of chamber music. He has appeared with the Lexington Philharmonic, both in their bass section and as a featured performer for their New Year’s Eve Pops performances. As a jazz performer, he leads his own ensembles and is active as a sideman including recent performances with Carl Allen, Brandon Coleman and the American Spiritual Ensemble.


Eli maintains a diverse career as an educator. He is a member of the faculty of Eastern Kentucky University’s Music Industry program where he teaches courses in music business, jazz improvisation, and jazz history, and coaches the school’s jazz combos. He has previously taught at Bluegrass Community and Technical College and with MusicWorks, an El Sistema-inspired youth orchestra.
