Sean Michael Casey teaches and performs Double Bass throughout the North Texas area. Sean began playing double bass at age 11 in Katy, Texas, where he studied with Andy Moritz throughout middle and high school. Sean earned a Bachelors in Music from the Cleveland Institute of Music (2012), and a Masters of Music from Arizona State University (2014), where he studied with Max Dimoff and Jeff Bradetich, and Catalin Rotaru respectively. In the Fall of 2014, Sean relocated to the greater Dallas-Fort Worth area, and opened a teaching studio in Plano, before moving to Allen in 2017. Sean maintains a large private studio in Allen, TX, producing numerous first-chair TMEA All-Region and All-State students. Students have gone on to study at Juilliard and Baylor University. In 2021, Sean received The Foundation Award from The Foundation for Music Education, recognizing a career of exemplary music teaching, leadership, and passion for excellence in music. As a performer, Sean performs regularly as a member of the Allen Philharmonic and McKinney Philharmonic. Additionally, he substitutes regularly with the Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra. Sean is also an active member of the International Society of Bassists, and the Local 72-147 of the American Federation of Musicians. |
