Brian Perry joined the bass section of the Dallas Symphony Orchestra in 2013 following 9 seasons with the Fort Worth Symphony. He has also appeared with the Cleveland, Minnesota, and National Symphony Orchestras, and often performs with the Boston Symphony at Tanglewood. Brian often collaborates throughout the D/FW area with both Dallas and Fort Worth Chamber Music societies and has also appeared with the Vermeer String Quartet. With DSO harpist Emily Levin, he presented a recital of duos for double bass and harp inspired by Ginastera’s Variaciones Concertantes featuring a world premiere, Three Shapes for Brian, by Justin Casinghino during the virtual 2021 ISB Convention. Brian studied with Jeff Bradetich and Edwin Barker, and has served as a board member for the I.S.B. and the Bradetich Foundation. He is currently an Associate Professor at SMU’s Meadows School of the Arts and faculty at Boston University Tanglewood Institute in Lenox, Mass. Please provide your bio here. |
