Bio:

BBC Music Magazine Rising star in 2020 and Silver Medal in the Global Music award, Valentina is a Frank Zappa addicted musician. She started to transcribe his music since she was eleven. First pianist, she decided to switch to bass, after falling in love with it, at the age of 20 and now, she explores in the worldwide music scenario a brand repertoire and establishing a new double bass playing virtuosity: a protagonist, very versatile, self-efficient and unique instrument. She is spreading the new repertoire and approach to reach equality between music instruments, something that has still to be developed in this century. Valentina was born in Pietrasanta (Lucca - Italy), to a German mother and Italian father. Initially a pianist, she started to play double bass in late 2009. She graduated in Composition too in 2014. Currently, Valentina is Double bass teacher assistant at Trinity Laban Conservatorie of Music and Dance (London, UK) in Leon Bosch’s class and she is double bass professor at the London performing academy of music in London. Her second album Ruutsu has been released on April 24th 2022 and world premiere in Teatro la Fenice in Venice.

She plays a 2014 Scipioni Bass.
