|Bio:||Joel Braun is associate professor of double bass at Ball State University and serves as assistant principal bass with the Eastern Music Festival and as section bass with the Fort Wayne Philharmonic. He has performed with the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra, the Detroit Symphony Orchestra, the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra, the Israel Philharmonic, the New York Philharmonic, and as guest principal bass with the Indianapolis Chamber Orchestra. As a soloist, he has given recent recitals in Cincinnati, Ohio; East Lansing, Michigan; and Rochester, New York and in 2017 was one of 21 international participants selected to perform live at the Bradetich Foundation International Double Bass Solo Competition in Denton, TX. As an in-demand educator, he has presented recent master classes at the Universidad Nacional de Música in Lima, Peru; the Cincinnati Conservatory of Music; Michigan State University; the Cleveland Institute of Music; and is a current member of the American String Teachers’ Association (ASTA) Journal Editorial Committee. He received a pre-college diploma, B.M., and M.M. degrees from The Juilliard School under the guidance of Eugene Levinson.|
