Bio:

Desmond is a freelance bassist and pedagogue passionate about community
engagement through the art of musical conversation. Desmond actively attempts
to break down the barriers created by arbitrary distinctions of musical genres by
performing and recording in many different styles of music including Classical
Chamber Music, Jazz and Folk.
As a pedagogue, Desmond currently holds a guest lecturer position at Cornell University. He is also a current Specialist in Music student at the University of Michigan.

Wrought with discontent, depression and angst following the completion of his
masters degree, desmond studied and lived at the and the BodyMind Restoration
retreat center where he continued his study of the healing power of living foods,
and Ithaca Zen Center, where he studied with Zen Osho and friend david radin for
7 years, and who he credits for helping him restore a fundamental part of himself,
his inner child, and which led to him a more matured understating of

life.
Desmond has practiced mindfulness, and yogic asana for over a decade and as an active facilitator of the “Space First Concept,” he uses the wisdom garnered at IZC to share the energy of awareness and movement as a methodology for healing.
