Bio:
Dr. David Baker serves as Assistant Professor and Area Coordinator of Jazz & Commercial Music at Utah Valley University in Orem, Utah. David is an active performer and scholar in the jazz community having performed alongside Ulysses Ownes Jr., Bob Sheppard, Kobie Watkins, and Greg Gisbert. He is a regular presence at the ISB Conference having presented in 2021 and was awarded the First Alternate position in the Jazz Competition in 2019. David prioritizes being well-rounded as a bassist and leads a studio of musicians at UVU that perform in a variety of genres professionally.
