Bio:

Sonia Ray is titular professor of double bass at the Federal University of Goiás (Brazil). She holds an undergraduate degree in Conducting and Composition by State University of São Paulo, Masters and Doctoral Degrees by University of Iowa both in Double Bass Performance under Dr. Gannett. Ray performs regularly performing both Brazilian and contemporary repertoire as a priority. Guest artist of ISB since 1993, Ray is co-founding member of the Brazilian Society of Music Performance (ABRAPEM) and the Brazilian Society of Bassists (ABC). Ricardo Freire holds an undergraduate Degree in Music from University of Brasília (1992), Masters and Doctoral Degrees in Music from Michigan State University (1994 and 2000 respectively). Ricardo is currently president of the Brazilian Society of Clarinetists and associate Professor at the University of Brasília.  Werner Aguiar holds both undergraduate and Masters Degree in Music (acoustic guitar) by Federal University of Rio de Janeiro, and a Doctoral Degree in Literature Sciences by the same institution. Aguiar is Associate Professor at Federal University of Goiás where he teaches guitar, music literature and develop research in guitar performance, Music performance in general.
