Bio:

Omar Martinez-Sandoval is a bass player currently in his
second year of the Master of Music program at the University of Maryland studying
with Anthony Manzo and Richard Barber. In his first year, Omar played as
principal bass with the UMD Symphony and recently was awarded the M-Cubator
grant to pursue his project “Publishing and Performing Mexican Composers for
the Double Bass.”  Omar holds a Bachelor
of Music from the University of Southern Mississippi under the guidance of
Marcos Machado and has previously studied in Las Rosas Conservatory back in
Morelia, Mexico.

Originally from Uruapan, Michoacan, Mexico, Omar's interests
include diversifying the repertoire for double bass and performing a wide-range
of lesser-known composers. He lives in Takoma Park, Maryland with his wife and
their dog Lucy.
