Guitarist and composer Julian Lage was a child prodigy and the subject of the 1996 short documentary film Jules at Eight. At 12, he performed at the 2000 Grammy Awards. Three years later, he became a faculty member of the Stanford Jazz Workshop. Classically trained at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music, he graduated from the Berklee College of Music in 2008. He is currently a faculty member at the New England Conservatory of Music. A Grammy-nominated recording artist, his latest album on the Blue Note label is View with a Room, released in 2022. Jorge Roeder has become one of the most versatile and expressive bass players in jazz today. Jorge has enjoyed long-standing partnerships with Julian Lage, Sofia Rei, Shai Maestro and Ryan Keberle, and shared stages with such innovators as Gary Burton, Nels Cline, Kenny Werner and John Zorn. He’s received a number of awards, including the 2007 Scott LaFaro Prize in the 2007 ISB jazz competition, and earned a Grammy nomination for the Julian Lage Group’s debut album.
