|Bio:||Bradley Opland began his professional career at the age of 18 in the Minnesota Orchestra in the fall of 1975. Today at age 60 with 35 years of experience in the Chicago Symphony Orchestra he is always asking God "What happened? I thought I was going to be 18 my whole life!" For the past decade Brad has been the House Bassist at 3rd Baptist Church of Chicago(TBCoC) and has transcribed and performed over 300 Gospel Songs for services at the church. The interesting "learn" was that by transcribing basslines from recordings Brad developed his "ears" in ways that he never did in "classical music theory" settings. That is not to say that classical music theory has not proven to be extremely useful in his approach to "making music". Today, everytime Brad picks up his bass he tries to listen and study whatever music is in front of him afresh.|
