Bio: | Stefano Sciascia is a soloist, teacher and composer. Stefano began studying the double bass at the age of sixteen. Soon after, he began to collaborate with the Rai orchestra of Turin, with Claudio Scimone's Solisti Veneti, with the Chamber Orchestra of Padova e del Veneto, with which he played in major European and world capitals.He played Solo performances in Europe Japan USA and released 20 CDs with Rivo Alto, Naxos and King Records Japan. Master Classes in Italy and Japan, Norway: Oslo University of Music, Finland: Helsinki Sibelius Academy, London Trinity College, Riga Academy Latvia, Copenhagen Bass2012, Mozarteum University Salzburg, Lugano Conservatorio della Svizzera Italiana, Universität für Musik und darstellende Kunst Wien, Zagreb Academy of Music, Beograd Academy, The Jerusalem Academy of Music and Dance, Prague Bass2016, Lucca Bass2018, Gothenburg Academy of Music & Drama.Stefano Sciascia composed the soundtrack of the award-winning film “Across the River”. Sciascia is head teacher of the double bass class at the Conservatorio Tartini of Trieste Italy. He plays an italian Ruggeri bass. |
