Dr. Joshua Davis

Josh heads the double bass studios at
Penn State University and Susquehanna University. He previously taught at
Towson University, Berklee College of Music, and the University of Maine at


Josh has just returned from playing a
twenty-five concert series on the National Mall with Vardan Ovsepian. He has
numerous repeat performances with the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra, Tim Miller,
Vardan Ovsepian, and Peter Erskine.

Recent Recordings

Love Salad, Josh’s May 2018 cd release
exploring parenting, partnership, and politics, and can be heard on Spotify,
iTunes, etc. Oneness, with the Vardan Ovsepian Group featuring Josh, Tim
Miller and Zach Harmon, was released in June 2018.

Recent Compositions

City, Laden, and Mrs. Wigglebottom, are among Josh’s most recent commissions, and feature orchestra and
solo double bass. The pieces will premier with Dr. Jennifer Sacher Wiley
conducting the West Shore Symphony Orchestra this November in Camp Hill, PA.
Other recent commissions include Overflow and Convergent Mirrors for
Artichoke Dance Company.
