Bio: | normal'>mso-ansi-language:EN-US">Fausto Borémfont-family:"Palatino Linotype",serif;mso-ansi-language:EN-US"> is Full Professor at UFMG (Brazil, since 1993) and Grant Researcher with the National Council of Research (Brazil, since 1994). He has advised 8 Doctoral dissertations and 31 Masters’ theses. The founder and head of UFMG’s Graduate Program in Music, he is an award recipient of several prizes in music performance, research and teaching in both the US and Brazil. As a double bassist, he has played many recitals in relevant venues in Europe, USA, Brazil and Argentina and concerts as principal double bassistr with São Paulo City Opera and Minas Gerais Symphony. He has accompanied popular musicians such as Egberto Gismonti, Hermeto Pascoal and Grupo UAKTI. He has premiered many pieces in recitals in important venues such as Jacobs School of Music, Eastman School of Music, Sorbonne Université, Paris Conservatoire and Universität der Kunste Berlin and Queens Hall in Edinbugh. He was the founder and chief editor for 20 years of Per Musi, a top-rated scholarly music journal. |
