Bio: Dr. David Neubert was the former Professor of Double Bass at The University of Texas at Austin (1982-2011) and the Director of Instructional Technology (2011-2014).  He was also the Principal Bass of the Austin Symphony, Ballet and Opera Orchestra for thirty years. As one of the first Past-Presidents of the ISB, he directed two conventions - Austin ‘’86 and Interlochen ’93 and hosted the “Making of the ISB” panel presentation at the Ithaca ’17 convention. An avid fan of integrating technology into both teaching and performance, this year’s panel presentation on Online Teaching - Pros and Cons,” will do just that.  His former students have made an impact is all areas of the bass world and the greatest compliment he ever had was “you not only helped me become a better player but also a better person.” Currently, David has begun a Community Arts Center in rural north central Kansas,, and has begun to inplement online teaching to stay current with his back in Austin.
