Paul Robinson is professor of double bass at The Ohio State University. He was a member of the ProMusica Chamber Orchestra for 30 years and is a former member of the Kennedy Center Opera House Orchestra and the United States Navy Band in Washington, D.C. Dr. Robinson has also performed with the Colorado Philharmonic, the Columbus Symphony, The Richmond Symphony, The Houston Symphony and the Lake Placid Sinfonietta. A student of Philip Albright, Oscar Zimmerman, and Homer Mensch, he has performed under such conductors as Zubin Mehta, Pablo Casals, and Leonard Bernstein. Dr. Robinson is an active clinician and has served on the board of directors of the International Society of Bassists. He served as editor for the double bass book in the Hal Leonard comprehensive string method series, Essential Elements for Strings. He is a former New Products Editor for Bass World, and former editor of the Double Bass Forum for American String Teacher. He has performed, conducted a variety of workshops, or delivered presentations in Canada, England, Scotland, France, Germany, Austria, Hungary, Brazil, and throughout the US.
