Bio:

Focusing on double bass solo performance, he mainly plays contemporary music and improvisation.  

He has performed in prominent contemporary music concerts in Japan and has premiered many solo pieces.

He is also active in commissioning composers both at national and international level, expanding the new repertoire of a double bass.

In 2022 he was invited by composer Pierre Jodlowski to give a solo performance in Warsaw, Poland. In August 2023, he received the Kranichstein Special Award for his solo performance at the Darmstadt Summer Course. 

Born in Kakegawa City, Shizuoka Prefecture. He completed his studies at Tokyo University of the Arts, Faculty of Music.

He was formerly an associate player of the Hyogo Performing Arts Center Orchestra. And is currently principal double bassist of the String Orchestra Acanthus II. 

He studied double bass under Osamu Yamamoto (Tokyo Metropolitan Symphony Orchestra) , Hiroshi Yoshino (Jazz Bassist) and Nicolas Crosse (Ensemble Intercontemporain)

He has attended master classes with Thomas Martin, Catalin Rotaru, Thierry Barbe, and Artem Chirkov.
