Bio: | Tianyang Liu Biography Proclaimed by APM as “The flying fingers of Tianyang Liu!” Tianyang Liu has won international attention for winning first prize and the best performance of a required new work in the 2013 ISB Solo Competition; Grand Prize of the 2012 International Double Bass Competition in Singapore; Honorary Prize and the Audience Favorite Award in 2010 Bradetich Foundation International Double Bass Solo Competition. Mr. Liu frequently appears in solo performances in the world, giving performances and master classes at international festivals and conservatories. He recorded his solo album <<PRAYER>> in 2019. Also, He has been featured on radio and magazine including The Strad; APM and BBC. Mr. Liu is a former Assistant Principal Bass of the Houston Ballet Orchestra. He join the faculty member at Central Conservatory of Music in Beijing since 2019. Mr. Liu received a B.A. from the Central Conservatory of Music in Beijing; Artist Certificate from University of North Texas, M.M. from San Francisco Conservatory of Music. Also, He was the first double bassist received Rice University, Shepherd School of Music’s most prestigious Artist Diploma in the history. His primary instructors were Paul Ellison, Scott Pingel, Jeff Bradetich, Junxia Huo, Da Fu and Zhenan Yang. |
